At Peacock Printing we love making one of a kind wedding invitations and decorations for those special couples but that’s not the only thing we do! We also specialize in children’s birthday invitations and decorations!

One of our most popular birthday invitations is the Passport invite, which is featured on our Peacock Parties Etsy Page. If you’re looking for a fun, creative theme for your child’s birthday party this invitation is perfect for you! This invitation has a safari theme, which you can personalize with a die-cut of your child’s favorite animal on the front! Open it up and you’re ready to travel with our life-like passport “stamps” of tropical and jungle destinations covering the inside of your invite. These passports are customizable so you can create the best invitations for your child’s birthday! If you’re interested in purchasing these invites or any of our other unique birthday decorations you can do so on our Peacock Parties Etsy page.

These invitations can be customized with a wide variety of animals, and can either include a photo or be filled in with different animals. They can also be customized in a number of color schemes if your child has a favorite!

Peacock Printing will go above and beyond to make your child’s birthday unforgettable, not only with our birthday invitations, but with decorations and stationery that are unique to your theme! We love being a part of your child’s birthday celebrations and we especially love to see photos of the party and the unique DIY projects that you do to make your child’s birthday special!

Last fall we had the pleasure of working with Charity, a mom of two of the MOST adorable children, on her son Rayden’s first birthday party (and we have since worked with her on a few more parties!). We were happy to supply her with our jungle safari themed invitations and decorations!

For this party Peacock Printing provided a variety of items: invitations, tented cards to label food items, “Rayden is ONE” on sticks to put in the food displays, several banners (“Happy 1st Birthday Rayden”) and another for the highchair (“one”) as well as a photo banner (above) with 12 slots for Charity to insert a photo of Rayden for each month up to one year. For her favor bags, Charity had a unique idea – we supplied Charity with the images and she painstakingly cut out the animal faces to attach to the bags!

Not pictured is a poster that she had made with details about Rayden – his age, favorite foods, first word, favorite things to do, etc. What a memorable thing for a first birthday! It, of course, followed the theme and I’m sure was a talking point for her guests.

On top of these decorations, Charity (as she usually does) came up with some of her own DIY projects to make this party memorable for her son and they were amazing! Her goodie table was impressive, too. She had a variety of sweets and treats to keep all the guests happy, no matter what age.

And don’t even get me started on the CAKE!

Charity nailed this party in every way. Even her decorations were awesome – from the brown paper wrapped “Expedition Supplies” packages on the fireplace to the inflatable jungle animals – this is a party that will be hard to top.

She managed to pull off a very impressive birthday party with her own personal projects, all while taking care of two small children and we were happy and proud to be a part of it! Thank you Charity for choosing Peacock Printing for your party!

We also recently partnered with Chasity (what’s with the Cha-names lately??) who featured our invitations on her blog and wrote up a review of our products. See her review here for more information!

Capture every moment

Your wedding day is one of the best days of your life so it only makes sense that you would want to capture that day forever. That’s why hiring a good photographer is a crucial part of planning for your big day. Sure, you can spend thousands of dollars on a dress that you’ll wear once in your life or you can spend that money on memories that will last a lifetime. Not to mention, you won’t even be able to remember how you looked in that thousand dollar dress if you don’t have the photos to look at later on. And we’re not talking about paying your best friend who minored in photography in college to capture the most important day of your life; we’re talking about hiring a talented, professional photographer with a passion for what they do and the portfolio to prove it!

If you dedicate a good amount of your budget to hiring a good wedding photographer you will never regret giving up that “have-to-have-it” dress. As soon as you see those photos you’ll understand why a great photographer is so important. We’ve all heard those horror stories about bad wedding photography and I know you don’t want to be next on that list so invest in a professional photographer and I promise you won’t regret it! If they’re truly a great wedding photographer they’ll capture the most important moments without you even knowing they’re doing it! And there’s nothing better than looking through photos after the wedding to see the moments you missed.

Those moments that you missed during your wedding because you were busy having the time of your life, don’t worry about those, you can see them on an app thanks to your guests and their phones! Forget having to search Instagram to find hashtags from your wedding day because with apps like Wedding Party and WedPics they’re all right there for you in one group ready to view whenever you want. No bride or groom wants to wait weeks or months to see photos from their wedding day which is why they should use these apps, which let couples see their guests’ photos immediately.

Want an even better way to see photos from your wedding? Photo booths are a popular new way to get guests involved in the wedding photography and keep lasting memories from your special day! Give your guests some props and let them make a fool of themselves in your own personal photo booth so you can remind them of it years later when they forget all about it! Or let them figure that out themselves using an on-site printer to turn the photo booth photos into a memorable favor for your guests! Either way you get physical memories of your special day and the people you shared it with, which is truly priceless! Check out this DIY photo booth I found on pinterest!

Teri and Mike of Hanlon Fiske Studios go above and beyond to tell the story of your special day in a series of beautiful photos! If you need proof of their talent just visit their website and see all of the beautiful weddings they’ve captured!

The Triangle Confetti invitation suite is a one-of-a-kind invitation. Its bursts of color and decorative pattern sets it apart from other wedding invitations. The confetti pattern gives guests the feeling of a celebration! Your guests will definitely want to showcase this invitation in their home!

The Birch Lovebirds invitation suite is a personal favorite of mine! The coral and blue work so well to compliment each other in this particular design and it’s definitely a color scheme that guests won’t be expecting! This invitation is adorable, charming and personal, especially with its customizable heart with initials.

The Ombre invitation suite is definitely a unique collection. Its ombre design is fun but sophisticated and it acts as the perfect background for your invitation. The oversized, elegant script makes your and your groom’s names stand out on your big day!

The Peony invitation suite is a beautiful floral design, which is great for any outdoor or summer wedding! These colors compliment each other perfectly and they highlight the beauty of these big, bold peonies.

Do your guests a favor!

So we all know the most important people on your wedding day are…the guests. There is a very good chance that at least one person will leave your wedding disappointed but there is a way to prevent this, since we know your main concern on your special day is making sure the guests are happy. And what is the answer you ask? Give your guests an unforgettable favor at the end of the night to make it all worthwhile! If I’m disappointed with your wedding and having an awful time but you end the night with personal boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts you can expect very good reviews from me! Whoever came up with this idea, THANK YOU! And for anyone who’s reading this that might be attending my wedding in the future, you can most definitely expect Krispy Kremes for your favor! I personally suggest using these as your favor unless there’s children at your wedding, then you may want to avoid the 300+ calorie, pure sugar dessert, just saying!

If you don’t feel like making your guests fat and unhealthy, well that’s your decision but don’t complain when they’re bashing your wedding to everyone they know because they didn’t get this awesome favor! But of course there are always other options, for instance, alcohol. These mini champagne bottles are too cute and they even double as a drink and a place card, all the more reason to use them as favors at your wedding! Plus, no guest will leave your wedding disappointed if you give them free alcohol as a favor, I guarantee it!

There are so many unique and creative favors that will guarantee your guests leave happy; it’s all about finding the one that’s right for you! Maybe that’s a box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts, maybe not (but it should be!). For cute, creative custom invitations and decorations visit our website, Facebook or Twitter page!

Advice cards for your special day!

Every time I look at Pinterest I see more and more fun and creative new things to incorporate in a wedding but one of my recent favorites is advice cards. I’m sure no amount of advice can really prepare you for what marriage is actually like, but at the very least your guests will have something to keep them occupied until dinner is served! I’ve seen these done many different ways but these letterpress coasters are definitely one of the cutest ideas so far. And what better place to put marriage advice than under a drink? The person who came up with this idea clearly didn’t need the advice since they already knew when the couple would need it the most! But in all seriousness, these coasters are a special and unique way for your guests to give you their best advice on your big day!wedding coasters
If you’re interested in buying these adorable coasters you can do so here and be sure to check out the post where I found them for more wedding ideas! But before you do that take a look at these other advice cards I found.

I, myself, tend to get bored at some point at every wedding, whether it’s at the actual ceremony or during that awful break between the ceremony and dinner so these advice cards are perfect for those hard-to-please guests like me! This Mad-Libs style card lets guests put a funny twist on their advice but it also tests their memory of basic English grammar which is sometimes even funnier than the advice itself! You may not get the most helpful advice but as long as your guests are creative you’ll be guaranteed a good laugh after the wedding! If you’re not scared of the things your guests might come up with you can buy these cards here or contact us at peacockprinting@gmail.com if you’d like us to make something like them customized just for you! DIY Lace Envelopes!

doily envelope

In my three years of being a graphic design student one of my favorite art projects was making my own envelopes! Not only was it the easiest project I ever did but it was a really fun way to express my creativity, and I had cute envelopes for any occasion. I found some adorable DIY envelope projects on Pinterest the other day and I thought I should share them with you! I used scrapbook paper when I made my own envelopes but now I realize that I was just taking the easy way out because there are so many other, more creative options I could have used. For example, check out these adorable lace envelopes made from doilies; yes I know, finally a good use for a doily! And of course Martha Stewart took it a step further and made these adorable envelopes into even more adorable name card/table number holders which are perfect for an elegant, lace-inspired wedding!

lace envelopes

Want to make these lace envelopes for yourself? I don’t blame you; they’re just too cute! I found all of the information you’ll need here but I’ll help get you started!

1.) I suggest using your invitation as your template for the lace envelope and your table numbers as the template for the lace name cards (this may be an unnecessary bullet point but you never know!)

2.) Fold the corners of the doily in, starting with the two sides. In order to make sure there is enough room for your invitation to breathe leave about a 1/4″ gap between the fold of the lace and the invitation.

*Be sure to firmly crease the edges of the doily before going any further; it would be a shame if you were stuck with a flimsy envelope after all this grueling work!

3.) In the post I was using for instructions she used double-sided tape to adhere the corners of the envelope together but if you’re willing to spend more money you can certainly use other methods!

4.) Your beautiful lace envelope is ready to go, assuming you were able to follow these difficult instructions!

As for the table numbers just flip the envelope over and cut small notches in the top and bottom of the lace pattern to hold the name cards! Let’s hope your DIY envelope turns out as cute as the picture (because that always happens, right?). If you’re looking for more doily decor you can check out more of  Martha’s creations here but try not to overdo it on the doilies because one can only handle so many doily DIYs!

Check out our Facebook and Twitter pages and visit our wonderful new website if you want some beautiful invitations to put in those new lace envelopes!

Social Media Saves The Day

Last week 13 WHAM News shared a story about a recently married couple who found their missing wedding photos via Facebook! Apparently the photographer for the wedding dropped the SD card, with the wedding photos on it, in a Tom Wahl’s parking lot in Avon, NY. We certainly can’t blame the photographer for stopping for a delicious Tom Wahl’s burger before uploading the photos but you have to wonder why he would bring the SD card with him to enjoy this meal. But luckily Tom Wahl’s workers found the SD card and were kind enough to post the photos on social media in hopes of finding the mysterious bride and groom. Thanks to Tom Wahl’s and the Facebook community the couple was able to find their wedding photos, which they didn’t even know were missing, less than two hours after they were posted online!

I couldn’t imagine never being able to see my own wedding photos and I think all the brides out there would agree with me! After seeing all of your beautiful photos I know how important it is to be able to relive the memories from your special day and I am happy to know that this bride and groom will now be able to do that.

This story reminded me that there are good people in this world and I really miss Tom Wahl’s burgers! Hopefully this story was inspiring for you too. If anything, you’re probably just craving a juicy Tom Wahl’s cheeseburger now and for that I apologize! If you were interested in the story you can check out the article yourself or watch the video to get the whole story! Real Wedding- Meghan and Erik

meghan_erik0459-Edit_wWhen I saw that this would be my first wedding post I was very excited! Meghan and Erik had a beautiful Catholic ceremony at St. Mary’s Church in September, 2012 followed by a rustic reception at the Bristol Harbour Resort in Canandaigua, NY. a_meghan_erik0083_w

I was especially excited to write about this wedding because they had some of the most delicious desserts I’ve ever seen and, in my opinion, the dessert is a crucial part of any reception! Meghan and Erik gave their guests plenty of options; they had a Burnt Almond Torte cake, courtesy of Prantl’s Bakery, four different flavors of cupcakes, and even a late night snack of milk and cookies thanks to Gourmet Goodies! I’m going to go ahead and assume that guests did not leave this wedding hungry; I know I certainly wouldn’t have! meghan_erik0410_w
Erica had the pleasure of helping Meghan and Erik with their cupcake toppers, dinner menus, table numbers and programs. The color scheme, sparkling merlot and citron, helped emphasize the romantic and rustic feel of the reception. meghan_erik0414_w

The place cards (which were adorable) added a unique touch to the reception. I admire this couple’s creativity and I’m sure the guests did as well! Such a clever way to display place cards!

Meghan and Erik also had beautiful flower arrangements, courtesy of Flower Power Decor. Hair and Makeup were done by Valerie Schaubroeck of Salon Brio in Pittsford, NY and Lisa Murley from Limedrop Events was the wedding coordinator.

Meghan looked absolutely stunning in her dress and so many brides will be jealous when they see these photos! The rustic theme for this reception was spot on and I know Erica is glad to have been a part of such a beautiful wedding. Thanks to John Larkin Photography for capturing this perfect night!  I would like to congratulate Meghan and Erik and thank them for choosing Peacock Printing for their wedding!

Hello everyone!

Hello everyone! I’m Rachel, the very lucky person who was chosen to be Erica’s assistant a little over a year ago! I have had the honor of assembling all of your beautiful invitations before they were sent out and while that may not sound like the most exciting job, it has truly been a great experience for me! It’s rewarding to be able to see these invitations come to life because I know that somewhere a very happy bride is waiting for them and I am lucky to be even a small part of that happiness.
Unfortunately I graduated from college in May and decided to follow my boyfriend and his family to the Sunshine state, very far from Rochester, NY where I met and started working for Erica. Fortunately for us, distance is not an issue and I will continue to work for her no matter where I end up! And although I love Rochester I have to say it’s a lot easier to be happy with the view I’ve got here!florida
Even with this incredible view, though, it is tough not to miss Rochester and working for Erica so I was obviously very excited when I got a message from her the other day asking if I would help her out with her blog and social media. Given that she is one of the busiest people I know, I was happy to help her out in any way that I could and so my blogging begins! I want to thank all of the brides out there who are using Peacock Printing for their big day because without you I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to meet Erica and have this wonderful job! I look forward to hearing all of your stories and seeing pictures from your special day! I will be posting at least once a week so please stay tuned and check it out! Also, check out our Facebook and Twitter accounts which you can find at our new and improved website http://www.peacock-printing.com/! Thank you! 🙂
